Real Japanese Hip Hop (RJHH)
Since 2013
— The first platform outlet entirely dedicated to Japanese hip-hop culture — reaching fans and professionals on every continent.
— “To be the voice of Japanese hip-hop culture worldwide”.
Since its creation, RJHH has become an essential reference point for fans and professionals keen to follow rap, R&B, and urban music from Japan. With an active presence on social networks and a dynamic web platform, RJHH highlights significant artists and the rising stars of the Japanese urban scene — defending this unique positioning for over a decade.
— RJHH is driven by a team of passionate individuals who share one conviction: Japanese hip-hop deserves the same depth of coverage as any major global scene. Our editorial approach goes beyond the surface — combining rigorous research, cultural sensitivity, and genuine enthusiasm for the art form.
The full spectrum of Japanese rap
From old-school battle rap to melodic trap, from underground cyphers to mainstream chart-toppers — we cover every facet of the scene without hierarchy or bias. Regional styles, sub-genres, and cross-cultural fusions all have their place in our coverage.
Deep dives into history
We believe you can’t understand where a culture is going without knowing where it came from. Our team conducts in-depth research into the origins and evolution of Japanese hip-hop — from its first sparks in the early 1980s to the pivotal movements that shaped the scene decades later.
New trends & emerging voices
The scene is constantly evolving. We keep a close eye on the new sounds, new faces, and new ideas feeding the genre today — whether it’s a producer redefining J-trap, an independent artist building a fanbase through social media, or a fresh wave reshaping what Japanese hip-hop sounds like.
