Jinmenusagi drops the video for “Shiawase (feat. C6ix)“, a track from his latest album ALXVE, released last November. The song pairs the Tokyo rapper with C6ix, who’s originally from Ghana and now based in Fussa, on the western edge of Tokyo. Direction comes from Quoami, who’s already worked on several visual projects for C6ix and knows his world well. The video lingers on simple scenes: time spent with family, with friends, nothing staged or overdone. These everyday fragments stack up like a collage, giving shape to the track’s title, which translates roughly to “happiness.”
The announcement doesn’t stop there. Jinmenusagi also confirms a cassette reissue of DONG JING REN, his 2023 album. The record marked a turning point for him: a sincere dive into the doubts that come with turning thirty, into that blurry stretch where you’re still figuring out who you want to become. It’s a key release for understanding the renewed interest in his work right now. The cassette comes in two versions, the original in red and the deluxe in blue, sold as a set online. In stores, at ODD TAPE DUPLICATION in Shibuya PARCO, both colors will also be sold separately. Quantities stay limited. kinoniniko, already responsible for the album’s visual identity, designed the cassette artwork.
Online sales start June 26 at 8 PM, followed by in-store availability on June 27 during ODD TAPE’s regular hours. The move makes sense given where the market stands right now: while streaming dominates, limited physical runs like this speak directly to collectors, to people who want something in their hands beyond a digital file.
