Hannya Drops 2000%HIPHOP on Streaming and Announces a National Tour

Hannya drops 2000%HIPHOP on streaming on July 4. A month later, on August 1, a CD edition adds one exclusive bonus track produced by LITTLE_D & GOWLAND, unavailable anywhere else.

The album covers Hannya’s usual ground: family, friendship, solitude, hip-hop. No forced concept, no overarching narrative. These are tracks written from daily life, with words that come naturally, unpolished by design. Thirty years after his first club shows in Shibuya, nothing in his approach has fundamentally changed. The lead track is “東京” (“Tokyo“), addressed to the city where he grew up. The message is plain: “流されんなよ” (“don’t get swept away“), “絶対負けんなよ” (“don’t lose, no matter what“). Short lines, no elaborate metaphor. The kind of bar that sticks because it says what people think without trying to impress anyone.

The rest of the tracklist moves between registers. “卒業 (feat. 柊人)” sets Hannya’s voice against a softer, more melodic one from 柊人, writing about moving on without letting the track turn sentimental. “バカ feat. FORK (ICE BAHN)” goes the other way: FORK, his longtime partner from ICE BAHN, over a T.B.S. beat, a track aimed at listeners who’ve been following the scene for a while, with name drops that assume familiarity.

Production is primarily handled by T.B.S., with contributions from Space Dust Club, Hot Joe, NAOtheLAIZA, PENTAXX.B.F, and SMTK. Thirteen tracks in total, with the CD bonus bringing the count to fourteen. A five-date national tour follows in autumn, running from Sendai to Tokyo via Fukuoka, Osaka, and Nagoya. The final date at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on October 24 is the biggest room on the run.
