SHINGO★西成 (Shingo Nishinari) Drops new single to Mark 30 Years of Career

SHINGO★西成 (Nishinari) releases “目の前のこと精いっぱい (Meno Mae no Koto Seippai / Giving Everything You Have to What’s Right in Front of You)” on September 25, with a video already up on YouTube. KOYANMUSIC produced the sound, and KUROFIN (黒門FILM / Kuromon Film) directed the video; he has been documenting him for years. The single is released on 昭和レコード (Showa Records). The timing is deliberate: on October 12, SHINGO★西成 plays Shin Kabukiza in Osaka for his 30th anniversary solo concert, titled “人間むき出し。人生悔いなし。 (Ningen Mukidashi. Jinsei Kui Nashi. / The Human Being Laid Bare. A Life Without Regrets.)”. This single lands a few weeks before that show.

SHINGO★西成 is an Osaka rapper active since 1996. He built his name through the western Japan rap circuit, with lyrics rooted in daily life in Nishinari, the working-class Osaka neighborhood he carries in his name. In his comment accompanying the single, he mentions a trip to Cambodia organized by 般若 (Hannya) as the starting point for the writing. The track covers being past 50, gratitude toward the people around him, music as the through-line of his life, and the will to keep pushing into new challenges. KUROFIN’s video layers images from different eras, cutting thirty years of shows into a few minutes without leaning into nostalgia.
