ZIN releases JOJO (Remixes) on October 28. The project marks the first anniversary of the EP JOJO, released in October 2025. Six remixes, six different beatmakers, each approaching a track from the original EP from a different angle.
ZIN is a singer-songwriter based in Osaka and a member of the artistic collective Soulflex. JOJO, his 2025 EP, brought together Kzyboost, KOJOE, FKD, 1Co.INR, ji2kia, Aru-2 and grooveman Spot. It’s an R&B project with precise vocal writing and arrangements that move across several registers at once. The collaborators on the original EP circulate between the Japanese rap underground and more electronic production, which explains the coherence of JOJO (Remixes): it’s not trying to flatten everything into a single sound, but to show what several readings of the same material can produce.
The six remixes: “4LON on “超えてゆく feat. Kzyboost” with an electric approach, Qunimune on “Everytime I feat. KOJOE” in a 2-step dance register, BudaMunk on “Distortion” with a low-gravity beat, ji2kia on “Moegara feat. Arche & 仙人掌” also rebuilding the original production, TiMT on “Say So” (TiMT is ZIN’s partner in their joint project Lipsum), and Co-3oly on “In The End”. Mastering by Ozzy Otaki, artwork by Yon_Riku Yamagami.
Two singles had already been released: the 4LON remix and the BudaMunk remix. Their placement as the first two tracks sets the tone: two beatmakers with radically different approaches sitting side by side at the opening. KOJOE appears on “Everytime I” from the original EP, the track Qunimune remixes here. That’s a direct link to the KOJOE ORGANIZED CONFUSION article already on RJHH.
