G-k.i.d releases “THE ROLLING LIFE” on October 16, with the video out on October 19. He was born in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, in 1995. He started in 2014 with BAD HOP, a crew he formed with childhood friends from his neighborhood. BAD HOP played its final show on February 19, 2024, at Tokyo Dome, then disbanded. Exactly one year later, G-k.i.d dropped his first solo single “NEW DAY.” Since then, he’s released Hood Melody and its expanded version, Hood Melody DELUXE, and he’s been active on the live circuit: SOUNDS UP in Okayama on November 3, and BRIDGE 2026 in Nagasaki on November 22.
“THE ROLLING LIFE” says what the title says: a lifestyle in motion, sustained over time. The hook restates the same image: “Shita dashite waratteru Rolling Stones / Namekitteru jinsei wa easy mode” (“Sticking our tongues out, laughing like the Rolling Stones / Treating this crazy life like it’s set to easy mode”). That’s not lightness: it’s a way of operating under pressure without showing it. The track comes back to this with “Bakabakashi warattete mo me wa honji” (“Even if I laugh like an idiot, my eyes stay dead serious”).
Two other axes run through the lyrics:
loyalty to those close to him (“Aite ga dare darō to kankei nai famirī ni te wa dasasenai” — “No matter who the opponent is, I won’t let anyone touch my family”) and writing as a personal anchor (“Ore ga ore de iru tame no anteizai” — “The stabilizer that keeps me being myself”).
