Kojoe (J.Studio) and beatmaker dhrma (Table Beats) release their double-name single “Paint” on June 16, 2026, from 7 PM JST. J.Studio is Kojoe’s label and recording studio, operating across Japan. Tokyo: MONJU. Osaka: Tha Jointz. Okinawa: MuKuRo, LazyWii, DJ NAPPY BWOY, POM, The Priceless. Yamaguchi: BUPPON, 1Co.INR. Few independent structures in Japanese hip-hop cover that much ground.
dhrma is part of Table Beats, a Kansai-based beatmaker collective curated by EPISTROPHE, the label behind WONK. He’s from Kakogawa, Hyogo. On “Paint”, he builds around cold electric synths and a low, bass-heavy foundation that doesn’t announce itself.
Kojoe raps over it with sharp rhymes and melody folded in. One line lands:
“韻蹴り合戦に芸能人ギャングスタ気取りよりも現場 ローカル縁 over yen 何にフォーカス” — rhyme battles and celebrity gangsta posturing against being present, local ties over money, what you’re actually focused on.
