rice water Groove released ESCAPE from GALAPAGOS on June 10, 2026. Fourteen tracks, produced under Doggy G Central Records, mastered by 8ronix (Bullpen lab.). The cover art tells you what you’re walking into before the first track plays — a Japanese pagoda, iguanas, ducks, a straw hat, two people who clearly have their own logic.
The album moves through hip-hop, funk, drum and bass, Latin, new jack swing, and dub without pausing to explain the transitions. That’s not sloppiness. The duo has described their work since day one as “Oriental chaos culture,” and on this record, the phrase holds up structurally. The genre mix isn’t decorative; it shapes the sequencing, the features, and the production choices.
TBS’93 produced nine of the fourteen tracks (M1, M2, M5, M6, M8, M9, M11, M12, M13). The remaining five go to YAZZY BEATS (M4), カミノ・ザ・ファンク (M7), yutyforce (M10), and theeluu (M14, guitar included). Mixing by Doggy G Central Records and mastering by 8ronix give the album a consistent sound despite the range of inputs.

Guest appearances come from ratiff (Neibiss), リベラル a.k.a 岩間俊樹 (SANABAGUN.), BaramonK, YAZZY BEATS (ザ・おめでたズ), カミノ・ザ・ファンク, 谷本大河 (SANABAGUN.), basho (Pistachio Studio / CBS), takeisme, 井石毅 (7ession), yutyforce, youngleaf (Contrail Club), and theeluu. MAGIC CARPET(8) stacks six voices on a single track. Artwork by takeisme. Photography by miyanica. Styling by Takeshi Iishi. The visual plants the duo in a setting that mixes Japanese heritage architecture with wildlife from the other side of the world. It’s not subtle, and it doesn’t need to be.
The video for Re:location feat. YAZZY BEATS dropped the same day at 8 PM JST. Directed, shot, and edited by basho (Pistachio Studio / CBS). The edit moves the way the track does: quick, spacious, no resolution forced.
More audio and video releases are planned for June and July as part of the same project cycle.
