G PLANTS and STUTS Link Up for Red Bull 64 Bars Episode 64

G PLANTS appears in the 64th episode of Red Bull 64 Bars, the Red Bull video series dedicated to Japanese hip-hop. The beat is by STUTS, who produced the very first episode of the Japanese series back in 2018, with David Dallas. Episode 64 dropped on October 22, and the single “GET GLUE 64 Bars” has been streaming since October 23 via Rolledman Sacks.

He is known as a member of 舐達麻 (Namedaruma), the Gunma-based hip-hop crew that made a significant mark on Japanese rap in the 2010s and 2020s, with a sound rooted in their daily lives and direct lyrics. He left the group and launched his solo career in August 2026 with the single “Ryuchijo”. The second single “Downer’s Inner Circle” followed in September. Both crossed one million streams within weeks.

The STUTS collaboration

The beat is built around a sample of Tom Misch’s “The Journey”. G PLANTS asked STUTS to work from that track. STUTS explains in his comment: “The Journey” is already a musically complete piece, so flipping it into a new beat was a fresh creative challenge. The result naturally aligned with the 64 Bars format: G PLANTS’ verse turned out to be exactly 64 bars. STUTS didn’t know this was the 64th episode of the series when they filmed either, and he notes the coincidence himself. A short interview with G PLANTS on his relationship to hip-hop is available on the Red Bull website.
