JASS (Tha Jointz) Presses “Shake” and “雲煙飛動” to 7″ for Their 10th Anniversary

JASS, a member of the Osaka crew Tha Jointz, releases a 7″ on October 28 via JOINTZ RECORDZ / ULTRA-VYBE. Side A: “Shake feat. KOH, JNK,” produced by DJ SOOMA. Side B: “雲煙飛動 (Un’ei Hidō / Clouds and Smoke in Motion),” produced by MoneyJah. Both tracks come from his debut album Un’ei Hidō, released ten years ago. Neither has been pressed to vinyl before.

Tha Jointz is a hip-hop crew rooted in Amerika-mura, the Osaka neighborhood that has been one of the Kansai rap scene’s gravitational points since the 1990s. JASS built his profile there through the mid-2010s, with an approach anchored in B-Boy culture: not as a brand position, but as a way of life that runs directly through the music. “Shake” is built around that: movement, the body in space, a beat that leaves little room for anything else. “雲煙飛動 (Un’ei Hidō)” goes somewhere quieter, deeper, harder to place.

Ten years after their original release, both tracks kept circulating in DJ sets and club nights. This 7″ isn’t a nostalgia reissue: it’s a recognition that two tracks held up, and that they were missing a physical format that could carry them. The pressing is domestic Japanese, 45 RPM, with a 4-page jacket.
