JJJ’s the light tour live film Screens in Kawasaki

JJJ’s live film, The Light Tour, will be screened in Kawasaki, his hometown, in November and December 2026. Two dates: November 30 at CLUB CITTA’ and December 3 at CINECITTA’ CINE10. At the same time, three of his albums, Yacht Club, HIKARI and MAKTUB, became available in Dolby Atmos on Apple Music from October 23.

The film

The light tour live film documents JJJ’s June 2025 concert at Kanadevia Hall (Tokyo Dome City Hall). Every song is included in full, with no cuts. The night brought together a remarkable group of collaborators: Aru-2 and the members of Step Bros, Benjazzy, BIM, Campanella, C.O.S.A., Daichi Yamamoto, ISSUGI, KEIJU, KID FRESINO, KM, MONJU, OMSB, SPARTA, STUTS, Tiji Jojo, VaVa, and 仙人掌 (Senjojo). Screening this film in Kawasaki, where JJJ grew up, gives these two dates specific weight.

The three albums in Dolby Atmos

The Dolby Atmos mixes of Yacht Club, HIKARI and MAKTUB were done by D.O.I. and The Anticipation Illicit Tsuboi, the two engineers who worked with JJJ on his original mixes. These are not remixes or reissues: they are the same albums, heard through a spatial audio rendering that changes how the production elements occupy space. Yacht Club (2016) is his foundational album, the one that established most of his sonic identity. HIKARI (2017) and MAKTUB (2023) extended that trajectory.

JJJ (Jumpei Taniguchi) was born in Kawasaki in 1990. His music had a lasting influence on Japanese underground rap, particularly on the generation of artists that emerged around MONJU, his collaborations with Daichi Yamamoto, and the Dogear Records scene. Tickets for the screenings are available via official lottery pre-sale until November 1, and on general sale from November 7.
