After years away from the mic, rapper EGO releases his EP “MY CHEST” on February 28, 2026. Five tracks to say what only time allows you to express.
A Long-Awaited Return
EGO is no stranger to the scene. A member of GRAND MASTER, the label founded by Japanese hip-hop legend Zeebra, he stood alongside artists like T-Pablow and YZERR at the very top of the game. Then he put the mic down. He chose an ordinary life, away from the spotlight. Today, he’s back. And this return carries real weight. “MY CHEST” is not a calculated comeback album. It is an intimate work built around one simple idea: saying what couldn’t be said before. Five tracks, five slices of life, a message that only EGO could deliver.

His unique journey sets him apart from other Japanese rappers. At 18, he moved to the United States on his own, recorded in a studio in New Jersey, and joined the label HOODY DOWN RECORDS — as its only Japanese rapper. Back in Japan, he released his debut album, “EGOLOGY”, in 2010, which was recognized by the hip-hop platform Amebreak. In 2014, he appeared in director Sion Sono‘s film “TOKYO TRIBE”, where he also served as rap director and coach for the cast. All of that experience is poured into “MY CHEST”.
