Se-Rah drops “女 (ON-NA)” on August 15 via ForTune Farm. Production by ghsbeatz. The track pairs a heavy beat and a present bassline with Se-Rah’s voice, direct and without unnecessary decoration. “女 (ON-NA)” means “woman” in Japanese. The track opens with a line that sets the tone immediately: “Everybody born from a woman“. A fact so ordinary it rarely reads as a statement. Se-Rah takes it and runs the rest of the song through it.

The lyrics move in two directions. First, a refusal to let anyone else set her value: “君に価値決めさせない” (Kimi ni kachi kesasenai, “I won’t let you decide my worth”). Second, an address to someone she wants to see hold steady: “dada dada 強くいてあなた” (Tsuyoku ite, anata, “stay strong, you”). The word “dada” carries a hip-hop echo here, a nod to “DON DADA,” passing encouragement through a frame with weight behind it.

The hook repeats “女 ♀ 女♀ 何歳になっても女” (On-na, nan sai ni natte mo on-na, “woman, no matter the age, woman“). It’s not a closed declaration. Se-Rah makes it clear this isn’t a track aimed only at women: it’s about people holding each other up, without a hierarchy of who’s supposed to be the strong one. Se-Rah has built a presence in Japanese hip-hop and R&B over several years. ForTune Farm has been her label, with a sound that mixes hip-hop and club music, and “女 (ON-NA)” fits that continuum, with a sharper edge than some of her previous releases.
